♥ V'day + Social
Okay, this will probably be super long since Friday was such a long day filled with all sorts of events & activities for year 12. There was the traditional B.A.C Valentine's Day events which was organized by us the grade 12 and there was also the year 12 Social in the afternoon til 8:30pm. And since I'm in year 12... well, I had an action packed day~
We'll start with Valentine's Day events. So there were tons of order sheets along with the messages on small card, our job was to separate the cards into form class stacks and make on the back of the card who is to get what. The we attached them to the correct orders, which were: Love-Heart lollipop, 2 foil-wrapped heart chocolate & 4 packed Lindt chocolate in a tin. For all of the chocolate options, a helium balloon needs to be attached to them. Therefore, having some volunteers going to school early was vital. But when helium was involved, you can never not have enough helpers! Just about 10 minutes in and we were all inhaling helium gases and sounded like chipmunks xD. To be honest, I think I kind of over did it... I felt really dizzy after taking in about 3 balloon full of helium. Finally, when all of the preparations were ready. We delivered them to each of the classes... Spread the love~~! I myself got a lollipop (from 'T.L'), a foil chocolate (from 'Neelrad') & Lindt Chocolate (from Josh. F) Thanks so much guys~ Love you too <33333
After lunch time, the REAL fun starts for the grade 12 x]. Social time begins!!! Now this isn't the 'semi-formal' type of social we see at most schools. This one, is a 'oh-yay-let's-play-some-activities' social. And here's the catch... the theme is~~~ "SURVIVOR". If you've ever seen that reality TV program, it's where everyone pretty much become barbarians... I'm not exaggerating, this game we played was just wild!
First event, we were all distributed into our 'tribes' (which the teachers have chosen for us for a special purpose) and we were all given a bandanna of a certain colour (I got white). Then we each have to come up with a dance and/or chant + a name for our tribe. Someone came up with phantom since our colour was white & the dance/chant ended up a 'Hakka' = =". Somehow... we won that first challenge~ xD. I'll skip the 2nd event because it's not worth mentioning since we lost that one D:<. Next event, putting up a tent. Okay, so tents are simple to put up if you read the instruction and do them step by step. And with 8 people, what could go wrong??? Well, how about trying to put a tent up~ BLIND-FOLDED!!! Yeah, I meant what I said! All 8 members on the team with the bandanna over their eyes, this ain't so easy. Lucky for us we have 2 people who has probably built about 100 tents altogether in their lives, we took the victory with ease.
Just when I thought I've had enough, the real challenge starts. Each team was separated to do certain activities and rotate at certain times. And when you're so busy, you won't have time to peek at how the other group solve their puzzle. Most of the activities are racing against time, so after all the groups have done it, which ever one did it in the fastest time wins that challenge. Now I'm going to explain this in the order that my team followed: 1. Square rope - the team stand in a straight line in front of a VERY LONG rope, the aim is to form a perfect square with the rope with all member inside the square in the shortest time possible... and again~ Blind-folded xO. Good thing that their was a good plan before hand or else we'd probably spend 10 minutes and ended up with a pentagon xD. Our time was about 2 minutes something =]
2. Toxic waste - A small bucket half-filled with some white vinegar. A circle about 2 meters diameter was drawn around the bucket. We're not allowed to go past the circle & weren't allowed to touch the bucket... but the challenge was to tip all of the 'toxic waste' into another bucket about 5 meters away from the circle in the shortest time possible. The only tool was 2 ropes. Didn't take long for a couple of genius of the phantom warriors to figure a perfect plan to remove the bucket from the circle using the ropes. Our finished time time was 1 minutes 34. We sure thought that time was enough to win but somehow the blue team wrapped it up in 22 seconds!!! Noooooo!!!!
3. Spider Web - this one is a bit hard to explain. Okay, a couple of ropes were crossed in random directions and tied to 2 trees like a spider web, leaving the big & small gaps in the middle like security lasers. The point was to get all team members from 1 side of the trees over to the other without touching the 'web' and you're NOT allowed to crawl through the bottom D:<. That one sure took a long time. Most girls were lifted up into to the middle of the air while the big boys went through the lower gaps.
4. Obstacle course - This is a head-to-head race between 2 teams, a vicious one too. To win this challenge requires completing many tasks. So I shall explain them one by one...
So that was all of the physical activities we did and after that we were dropped of by a B.A.C bus to Roma Street Parkland to have our BBQ dinner. The good part was.... there was MEAT!!!!
That concludes my Valentine's Day at school & social... Until next time~ Bye-Bi

4. Obstacle course - This is a head-to-head race between 2 teams, a vicious one too. To win this challenge requires completing many tasks. So I shall explain them one by one...
- First task: A very big bucket with apples in it, we need to fill up the bucket with water using 2 small buckets with holes in them and 3 small plastic cups. The water tap was about 5 meters away. Basically all of us ran back and forth constantly until we almost drop dead. And of course, there were lots of spillings of water, there's no way you can run with water without spilling... especially when the buckets are covered in small holes (talk about wasting water).
- Task 2: when the bucket was filled to the top and the apples are floating, get the apples out of the bucket using your mouth only !This is were all your hygiene matters go OUT THE WINDOW!!! When you're trying to win, I don't think it matters anymore that 8 people are sticking their head into the same bucket of water with their mouth wide open. I ended up getting a jeans, shirt AND my hair wet. We have to all finish eating the apple to the core before we can move on to the next task. So, table and eating manners.... Out the window~!!!
- Task 3: two planks of wood, all members must stand on the plank. Move 1 plank at a time to move forward. The destination was a tree about 20m away and back! The challenge.. Beat the other team before they beat you! Well, we were charging forward but then the other team somehow shoots past us. We were behind for about 10 seconds.
- Task 4: A table 4m away, 8 plastic cups with all sorts of food in them and some non-inflated balloons. Aim is, one person at a time, run to the table, eat one thing, blow up the balloon and pop the balloon so the next person can go. Which team completes the menu is the overall winner. The food in the cups include: A spoonful of vegemite, a spoonful of red bean paste (which I ate), a block of dry weet-bix, pickled cucumber, a piece of white bread, raw asparagus and chocolate! Since we've already chose who is to eat what, no one hesitated so we won that one =].
So that was all of the physical activities we did and after that we were dropped of by a B.A.C bus to Roma Street Parkland to have our BBQ dinner. The good part was.... there was MEAT!!!!
